27FORTY STUDIOS is Ottawa’s newest boutique style production, VFX, motion graphic and design studio
Located in the Capital’s west end, the new production studio is spearheaded by producer/ director Dave Bigelow (co-founder of Atomic Productions) and Ron Gallant (owner of Affinity Productions, the National Capital Region’s leading production and post-production facility.
The new collective will focus on design-driven creative and offers a wide range of services such as 2 and 3d motion graphic design, punchy editorial and live-action production to the broadcast, corporate and commercial producer. With many years experience on the production playground, 27FORTY Studios is designed to play well with others and can be plugged in at any stage.
“We’ve known each other for a long time but only worked together for the first time last year,” says Dave. “I noticed that there were complimentary skills sets at play and this dynamic really made the end results so much better… to team up was a no-brainer for me.”
With a large catalog of past broadcast, corporate and commercial credentials including many of the major Canadian and US Networks, 27FORTY is forging on as a creative force that is determined to offer clients something different… something better.
The facility is armed with creative and technical talent that is passionate and dedicated to advancing in the production industry. The latest technology includes access and workflow with DSLR, RED and ARRI cameras, Final Cut Studio HD, Final Cut Server with Apple X-Serve and PromiseRaid Servers as the facility’s backbone and storage backup.The studios also boasts a 20 seat Mac based production environment loaded with the latest Adobe Creative Suite, Maxon’s Cinema 4D along with a truckload of specialty FX plug-ins. All this is available and heavily utilized to pump out projects on time, on budget… and with flare.
“27FORTY gives clients the best of both worlds: boutique-style creativity and when necessary, a fully scalable facility that can handle productions of all shapes and sizes,” says Ron. “We also have a pretty big parking lot.”
